
My name is James Lane. I am a licensed private investigator and polygraph examiner in the state of Tennessee. I have over 30 years of investigative background experience having recently retired from the Cookeville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division holding the rank of Detective Sergeant. During this time I was assigned a variety of difference crimes from Property Crimes that involved stolen property, thefts, and burglaries, aggravated burglaries. These offences included both the business sector and private citizens. Financial Crimes that included investigating forgeries, internal thefts, and fraud. Part of my duties also included working Personal Crimes investigating crimes against the person such as assaults, aggravated assaults, child abuse, kidnapping, robbery, rape, and homicide. The cases that I investigated included not just the local businesses but private citizens as well. I have spent many hours testifying in various courts including General Sessions, Criminal, Grand Jury, and Federal Court. Additional duties held included the position of Executive Officer with the departments Crisis Negotiation Team (Special Ops Team), Department Representative with ROCIC (Regional Organized Crime Information Center), and Gang investigator. I attended the FBI National Academy for law enforcement, Nashville State Community College for polygraph training. Associations that I am a member of include The Fraternal Order of Police, NAIS (National Association of Investigative Specialist), FBI National Academy Associates, American Polygraph Association, and the Tennessee Polygraph Association.
