Polygraph testing is often a useful investigative tool used by private investigation companies. The process helps save time and money for the client. Even though the test results may not be allowed in many courts of law, the testing does provide good information. Very often the untruthful subject will admit the truth when faced with the test results. Lane attended Nashville State Community College for his polygraph. Lane is a member of the American Polygraph Association, and the Tennessee Polygraph Association.

Investigative Services Experience

With over 30 years of investigative background experience Lane recently retired from the Cookeville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division. Lane retired holding the rank of Detective Sergeant. Lane has investigated a variety of crimes during his years in law enforcement including the following:

Financial Crimes that included investigating forgeries, internal thefts, and fraud.

Personal Crimes investigating crimes against the person such as assaults, aggravated assaults, robbery, rape, kidnapping, and homicide.

Property crimes that involved theft, burglary, aggravated burglary, auto theft, and any other crime involving thefts.

The cases that Lane worked included crimes against local businesses as well as private citizens. Lane has spent many hours testifying in court in connection to cases he worked and is very familiar with the court system. Additional duties held included the position of Executive Officer with the departments Crisis Negotiation Team (Special Ops Team), Department Representative with ROCIC (Regional Organized Crime Information Center), and Gang investigator. Lane attended the FBI National Academy for law enforcement, Nashville State Community College for polygraph training, and is a member of NAIS (National Association of Investigative Specialist).
